Benjamin T. “Ben” Stuber, 46

Benjamin T. “Ben” Stuber, age 46, of New Prague, died peacefully, with his family at his side on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville.

Ben was born on June 17, 1977, in Kansas City, MO, to Michael R. and Ann (Malotte) Stuber.  The family moved numerous times during his childhood, finally settling in Lakeville, MN, where Ben graduated from Lakeville High School.  He went on to receive a degree from South Central Community College, then took a job as a welder at Nybo Manufacturing in Shakopee, where he met and fell in love with Tanya Weiers.  They were married on July 6, 2002, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Union Hill.  Ben started welding and fabricating metal in his garage and hard work and perseverance led to owning and operating ProFab Welding and Machine in Lakeville.

No matter what Ben undertook, he was ALL-IN!  He was a risk-taker and a bit of a rebel by nature, so all his activities were just a bit adrenaline-infused!  He spent many younger years racing motocross, and later in life grew a passion for riding stand-up, performance jetskis since he claimed, “hitting the water hurts a lot less than hitting the ground”.  He enjoyed snowmobiling in the winter, and wake surfing with family and friends during summer.  He could always be talked into loading and shooting off fireworks.  In quieter times, he enjoyed fishing, both summer and winter, and flying remote control airplanes.

Ben’s most current passion was in mountain biking.  He served as a head coach for the New Prague Mountain Bike Team.  Ben was totally involved and engaged in his boys and passed on his passion for mountain biking to them.  He was beloved by his nieces and nephews, being the super fun uncle, but also the one who gently but firmly kept them in line.  Straightforward and a bit rebellious, he really mellowed with age.  His larger-than-life personality will be missed by all who knew him.

Ben is survived by his wife, Tanya, of New Prague; sons, Jeremiah, Lincoln, and Trevor; parents, Mike & Ann Stuber of Northfield; sisters & their children, Melissa (Kelly) Shultz (Owen & Grant ) of Farmington and Alison (Jon) Wohlhuter (Ethan, Ellis, Emmet, & Esmae) of Lakeville; mother-and father-in-law, Greg & Jayne Weiers of Lonsdale; brothers- and sisters-in-law & their children,  Jason (Robbin) Weiers (Carson & Brooklyn) of Erhard, Amanda (Rick) Motz  (Carley & Claire) of Lonsdale, Brent (Katie) Weiers (Sawyer & Lewis) of New Prague.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at FaithPoint Lutheran Church with Reverend Dr. Steve Trewartha officiating.  Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at Bruzek Funeral Home.  There will be no morning visitation.  Burial will occur at Czech National Cemetery and lunch will follow in the church social hall.

Memorials preferred to New Prague Mountain Bike Team. (Checks should be made to: Minnesota Valley Mountain Bike).
