Brian Zaun, 60

Brian Zaun, age 60, of Shakopee, Minnesota, entered eternal life on Monday, November 11, 2024, in Shakopee.

Brian was born in Shakopee on November 4, 1964, the son of Alfred and Ann (Sirek) Zaun. He was very happy at his home in Eden Prairie, MN, at Lotus View, and made many friends there. In his younger years, Brian worked at the Chaps Thrift Store in Burnsville, MN, and then worked as a custodian at St. Patrick's Tavern in rural New Prague, MN.

Brian enjoyed watching all sports, especially the MN Twins, Vikings and former North Stars. He also participated in the Special Olympics and his top events were the 50 yard dash and the softball throw. He liked to listen to the same music as his siblings, Beach Boys and Creedence Clearwater Revival, and dancing while they listened. Brian also loved cherry pie, KFC, McDonald's, and orange soda.

Brian's family wishes to thank all the caregivers in Brian's life.

Brian is survived by his mother, Ann; brothers and sister, Michael, Karen (Mark) Wangler, and Dan; nieces and nephews, Matthew (Sarah) Wangler, Andrew Wangler (Camilla Dornquast), and Caitlin Wangler (fiancé, Taggart McMillan); uncles and aunts. He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred.

Visitation Thursday, November 21, 2024, from 4 - 6 p.m., and Friday, November 22, from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m., both at McNearney-Schmidt Funeral and Cremation, 1220 3rd Avenue East, Shakopee, 952-445-2755. Mass of Christian Burial Friday, November 22, at 11:00 a.m., at Church of St. Mary, 535 Lewis Street South, Shakopee. Interment Catholic Cemetery, Shakopee.
