Century tops Trojans, 35-21

The New Prague Trojan football team fell to 1-1 with a 35-21 loss to Rochester Century Friday, Set. 7, at Trojan Stadium in New Prague.

The teams traded touchdowns early. Century scored in the first quarter on a 1 yard run, then Parker Johnson scored early in the second from 3 yards out to make it a 7-6 game after a failed twopoint conversion.

Century scored on a 16- yard pass later in the second, then added a score early in the third on a 6-yard run to make it 21-6.

Ryan Schoenbauer caught a 16-yard pass from Johnson in the third, and Mitch Callahan carried in the two-point converion to make it a 21-14 game.

Century scored late in the third on a 10-yard run, but New Prague had a nice drive early in fourth quarter, capped by a touchdown pass from Parker Johnson to Jay Skogerboe for 21 yards. That made it 28-21.

The Trojans stopped Century and had a chance to tie the game, but the drive was thwarted near midfield on a sack on a fourth-and-4 play.

Century added another score in the final minutes to make the final 35-21.

Johnson was 19-of-34 passing for 261 yards and two touchdowns. Schoenbauer had six catches for 94 yards, Skogerboe five for 95, Jacob Deutsch four for 42, Callahan three for 21 and Blake Woodson one for 9.

However, the Trojans struggled on the ground, gaining only.....
