Dana Dallas Sibbet, 59

Dana Dallas Sibbet, age 59, of Prior Lake, MN, passed away at home on December 13, 2023.

A visitation will be held honoring Dana on Friday, December 22, 2023, from 9:30-10:45 AM, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM, all at St. Michael Catholic Church, 16400 Duluth Avenue SE, Prior Lake. Father Tom Walker will preside. Dana will be laid to rest at St. Michael Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred and will be used to set up a memorial to honor Dana within the show horse industry.

On November 8, 1964 in Minneapolis, Dana Dallas Sibbet was welcomed into the world by mother Ramona Helmer Sibbet and father Donald Harlow Sibbet. Dana was the youngest of four boys.  

Dana graduated from New Prague High School in 1983. After high school he attended college part time while working full time in the early stages of the family business, RaDon Inc.  Dana and Peg were married in 1989 and welcomed Evan Mitchell Sibbet in 1998.  Dana and Peg split in 2019, but remained friends and business partners.

Dana enjoyed watching all of Evan’s sporting events, had a passion for motorsports, and raced both motor-cross and sno-cross for many years.  

Dana’s life work for 40 years was devoted to creating premier custom show horse apparel, stall draperies, tack containers, and accessories for the show horse industry.  In 2015 Dana sold his ownership stake in RaDon Inc, and exited the family business to start his own business under the Appointments USA brand.  The company has evolved into a major force in the show horse industry. He considered his team at the company his family. He deeply enjoyed cultivating unique relationships with his customers across the country. He loved his customers, many of whom he knew for 40 years, and his customers loved him for his kindness and generosity to their businesses and the show horse industry. One of his most cherished life-time achievements was being awarded the United Professional Horsemen’s Association Sallie B. Wheeler Distinguished Service Award in 2006.

In 2015 Evan helped Dana prepare the new shop for Appointments USA and in April 2022  joined the company full time.  Dana’s legacy will live on with Evan.  

Dana is survived by his son, Evan Sibbet; former wife, Margaret (Peg) Lang; lifelong friend and companion, Cary Bartz; former in-laws, Jim & Carole Lang and the entire Lang family; his Appointments USA family; his brothers, Darrel, Don, and Duane; and many other family members and friends. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Donald Sibbet and Ramona (Helmer) Sibbet Whipps; and nephew, Shawn.
