Dolores Marie Tuma, 91
Dolores Marie Tuma, age 91, of New Prague, formerly of rural Lonsdale, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Mala Strana in New Prague. Dolores was born on July 6, 1932, on the family farm in rural New Prague, Scott County, to Charles and Adeline (Machacek) Bartusek. She graduated from New Prague High School. Dolores married Joseph L. Tuma on June 10, 1952, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Veseli.
Dolores was a homemaker and helped on the farm, and she and Joe later moved to New Prague. She was a member of the Rosary Society and Fatima prayer group at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Lonsdale. Dolores was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family meant everything.
She is survived by her children, Deborah (Michael) Prokes of New Prague, Pamela (Paul) Hegseth of Kenyon and Gerard Tuma of Webster; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; special niece, Kristine Kubes and the late Michael Callaghan; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; parents; parents-in-law, Joseph F. and Julia Tuma; sister, Adeline (Melvin) Kubes; brother, Charles (Mary) Bartusek; brother-in-law, Eugene Tuma; and sister-in-law, Adeline (Eugene) Malecha.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Lonsdale with visitation on Monday, June 3, 2024, from 4-7 p.m. at the White Funeral Home, 201 5th Ave. NW., Lonsdale (507-744-2368) also 1 hour prior to Mass at the funeral home. Interment, Calvary Cemetery, Lonsdale.
