Dorothy L. Lipinski, 89

Dorothy L. Lipinski, age 89, of Lonsdale, died peacefully at The Villages of Lonsdale on Friday, February 24, 2023, just in time to be with her husband in Heaven on their anniversary.  Dorothy was born on October 24, 1933 in Taunton, MN to Ed and Catherine (Kindelberger) Bursack.  She grew up on the family farm and attended School District 33.  She married Raymond H. Lipinski on February 25, 1952 in Wilno, MN.  Life as a farm homemaker came naturally to her, as she had had excellent training as a young girl faithfully milking cows both before and after school.  She moved easily into farm life and successfully raised a family of six with not only a strong work ethic, but with kindness, generosity, and an abundance of love.  She had an enormous garden with both the flowers that she loved and an abundance of vegetables and enjoyed canning the fruits of that garden.  Noted for her cooking and baking expertise, she loved to entertain and was a gracious hostess, who always produced a mountain of food.  She looked forward to hosting the holiday gatherings and there was nothing that gave her greater joy than family outings and being with her grandkids.

Dorothy worked at the Grist Mill once they moved off the farm for a short period of time. Once she moved to the townhome in New Prague, she became an enthusiastic member of the townhome association.  An outgoing and friendly woman, with a ready smile and a joyful spirit, she enjoyed gatherings with her fellow members of Silver Sneakers and the monthly dinners out with the friends from her home owners association.  She loved her pets over the years and could be seen on daily walks in New Prague with her favorite canine companion, Cassie.  Her positive personality, kind heart, and smile that was ever present will be missed by her family and all who knew her.

Dorothy is survived by children Duane (Debbie) Lipinski of Osseo, WI, Chris Lipinski of Stillwater, Judy Zwirtz of New Prague; Jeri (Charles) Friedges of Elko, Cindy Lipinski of New Market, Diane Lipinski of San Diego, CA; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; sister-in-law, Delores Bursack of Canby; brother-in-law, Archie Bednarek of Marshall; very special caregiver and friend, Barb Tonsager.  She is preceded in death by her husband Raymond on November 4, 2016; son-in-law, Jack Zwirtz; brothers, Ervin, Fred, & David; sisters, Eldora, Ruth, Jane, & Viola.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, March 3, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Father Eugene Theisen officiating.   Visitation will take place Thursday from 4-8 PM and Friday morning from 7:30 – 10:30 at Bruzek Funeral Home.  Burial will occur at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery followed by lunch at the KC Hall.  Mass will be live-streamed on npcatholic.org.
