ENM Candidate Forum draws 100 residents
The Elko New Market Chamber of Commerce’s Candidate Forum drew 100 area residents interested in finding out about candidates for Elko New Market City Council and mayor, Minnesota House of Representatives District 20A and Scott County Sheriff. Held Thursday, Oct. 4, in the Elko New Market Library’s Community Room, the candidates provided information about themselves and answered several questions.
Those participating were Minnesota House District 20A: Bob Vogel (R, incumbent) and Barbara Droher Kline (DFL); Scott County Sheriff: Luke Hennen (incumbent) and Jason Arras; Elko New Market Mayor: Bob Crawford (incumbent) and sitting council member Joe Julius; Elko New Market City Council: Josh Berg and Kate Timmerman, who are both incumbents and running unopposed, and Jon Schwichtenberg and Dawn Seepersaud, who are both running to complete the term of former council member Patricia “Trish” Timmons.
The chamber’s purpose for the forum was to help business owners and residents make informed decisions about local elected officials who generally have some of the greatest impact on voters’ lives.
