A fitting tribute!

New Prague’s Veterans Memorial Committee is holding their MusicFest II fundraiser Saturday, Feb. 9.

This is the second year of the event. Last year’s MusicFest which was highly successful and brought in a lot of money to fund the memorial, which is scheduled to be built in the summer of 2020.

New Prague has a Veterans Memorial tucked into the back of Memorial Park. This modest memorial was the product of many hours and much effort on the part of local service organizations. This new memorial will have a more visible location and will go much further to honor not only those who gave their lives in service to the country, but also those who served and sacrificed years of their lives while serving.

The memorial wall will list the names of those who fought and died or are missing in action from the community. The service walls will list those who served in the various branches of the armed services.

The military veterans of the community served with honor, and have continued to do so through various efforts over the years. It is a fitting tribute that the community honor them for all they have sacrificed. We urge community members to stop by the Park Ballroom on Saturday and help forward the cause of this memorial.
