Helen Hoheisel, 89

Helen G. Hoheisel, age 89, of New Prague died with family at her side on Sunday November 18, 2018, at Mala Strana Rehabilitation Center in New Prague, MN.  Helen was born August 3, 1929 in Buckman, Minnesota to John A. and Loretta M. (Brashofsky) Theis.  She was raised and attended Catholic school in Buckman. She married Willard C. Hoheisel on November 30, 1950 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Buckman, MN. They also lived in Pierz and Spring Valley, MN prior to moving to New Prague in 1967.  Helen was an excellent seamstress and worked in a variety of places, finally for Bill’s Toggery in Shakopee, from where she retired. She and her husband also owned and operated the Corner Bar in New Prague.  She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, baking as well as fishing, camping, and going on family road trips.

Helen is survived by her four children, Daniel “Jigger” of New Prague, Thomas J. of Hudson, WI, Michael (& Linda) of Hudson, and Brenda A. (& Rick “Shorty”) Schmitz of New Prague; siblings, Judy Glafke of Eagle River, Alaska, Al (& Irene) Theis of Hastings, Marion Bleichner of Sauk Rapids, MN, and Rod (& Bunnie) Theis of Helix, OR; 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Helen is preceded in death by husband, Willard on Dec. 19, 2014; parents; great-granddaughter Evelyn Rose Hoheisel; siblings, Ray, Don, Larry, Celia, Eileen, Bernard, Raine, and Marie (in infancy).

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 10:30 AM (with eulogy presented at 10:15 AM) at St. Wenceslaus Church, New Prague, MN with Father Kevin Clinton officiating. Visitation will take place Friday from 4-8 PM and Saturday from 7:30-10:00 AM at Bruzek Funeral Home, New Prague.  Burial will occur at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery in New Prague followed by lunch at the Legion Club.
