Irene B. Puncochar, 91
Irene B. Puncochar, age 91, of Adams, formerly of New Prague, died peacefully with her family at her side, on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at Adams Assisted Living. Irene was born on June 29, 1927 to James and Bohumila (Pecka) Svoboda. She married Edwin C. Puncochar on October 19, 1946 in New Prague and the couple made their home in New Prague, where they raised their three children. Irene worked for many years at MVE and at the Park Ballroom. Irene was the ultimate people-person; she loved and was loved by everyone she met. Fishing was a favorite activity and Irene was noted for the fish fries that she had for family and friends. She had a beautiful garden and canned the fruits of that garden. She loved travel and a good game of cards, especially when it was with her family and friends.
Irene is survived by her son, Ron (Gwen) Puncochar of Luck, WI; daughter, Carol Toven of Aitkin, MN; brother-in-law, Len Malecha; 7 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edwin on May 27, 1980; special friend, John Guessen; daughter and son-in-law, Colleen & Dean Vermilyea; son-in-law, David Toven; granddaughter, Kim Vermilyea; brother, Raymond Svoboda; sisters, Ann Kraft, Adeline Malecha, Wilma Dombrowski.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 13, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, with visitation at church beginning at 9:00 AM. Burial will occur at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery followed by lunch at the KC Hall.
