Jeanette D. Tupy, 84

Jeanette D. Tupy, age 84, of New Prague, died peacefully Easter night, April 4, 2021 at Mala Strana Rehabilitation Center and Assisted Living.  Jeannie was born on February 16, 1937 in Webster to Arthur D. and Julia (Voracek) Lexa.  She graduated from New Prague High School and before she was married, Jeannie worked as a nanny and in the kitchen at Queen of Peace Hospital.  She married Arnie L. Tupy on September 1, 1956 in Lonsdale and they farmed while raising their two children.  Jeannie’s strong work ethic also came out in her work at the Snack Drive-In, Green Giant, the kitchen at New Prague High School, and working with Arnie at the Park Ballroom, although the latter was often more fun than work!  Possessing a beautiful voice, Jeannie loved her time singing with the Martha Choir at St. Wenceslaus Church.  Her family was the most important part of her life.  She always had cookies for after-school treats and she was legendary for her pies and cinnamon rolls.  The grandchildren noted that she always made their favorite cake for their birthdays.  In her spare time, she and Arnie enjoyed trips to the casinos and particularly enjoyed the seafood buffets.

Jeannie is survived by her daughter, Jayne (Paul) Skluzacek; grandchildren, Brandon (Brynna) Skluzacek, Jason (Angel) Skluzacek, Miranda Tupy, Corinna Tupy, Zack Tupy; Great-grandchildren, Lana, Lexi, Scarlett, Liam, Eli, Everett, & Ivan Skluzacek & Patrick Tupy; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Lexa & Gladys Eiler.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Arnie on November 17, 2019; son and daughter-in-law, Dale & Bonnie Tupy; grandson, Nicholas Tupy; parents; brother, Art Lexa; sister, Adrienne Skluzacek.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Father Eugene Theisen officiating.  The public may enter church beginning at 10:30. Masks and social distancing will be required.  Mass will be live-streamed on npcatholic.org.  Burial will follow Mass at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery.  bruzekfuneralhome.com
