Mildred Dehlinger
Mildred Dehlinger passed away on July 27, 2024, in St. Paul, MN. She was born Aug. 16, 1932, on her family’s farm in Jordan, MN, the oldest daughter of ten children of William and Walberga Busch Schoenbauer, attending school at St. Benedict and Good Counsel Academy.
She had a forty-year career as a teacher with a B.S. in Biology from Alverno College in Milwaukee, WI. She began in the early 1950’s as a member of the School Sisters of St. Francis. In 1973, she married the love of her life, Richard Dehlinger of St. Paul, MN. She regarded her years at St. Luke's school in St. Paul as the highlight of her teaching experience where she was known as Mrs. D.
She is survived by her husband, Richard and siblings Lil Gravlin, Faribault, Shirley Schwisow, Sarasota, FL, and Ralph Schoenbauer, Colorado Springs, CO, and her sisters-in-law Cathy Schoenbauer and Melvin (deceased), Rose Ann Schoenbauer and Wallace (deceased), Shirley Schoenbauer and Gilbert (deceased), Pat Schoenbauer and Jerry (deceased), and brother-in-law Donald Dehlinger (and Sally) and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings Andrew Schoenbauer (and Winnie), Carol McDonald (and John) and her parents.
Arrangements are indefinite. In 1982 she willed her body to the Anatomy Bequest Program at the U of M.
