Nancy Elizabeth Matychuk, 52

Nancy Elizabeth Matychuk, age 52, of Shakopee, died suddenly at her home on Sunday, March 31, 2019. Nancy was born on December 15, 1966 in Farmington, MN to Wendel and Darlene (Bangtson) Brooks. She grew up in Apple Valley until 5th grade when the family moved to New Prague, where she graduated from high school. She married David S. Matychuk on June 7, 1986 in Burnsville, MN. The joy of Nancy’s life was her best friend and husband and five children whom she home-schooled. Nancy and David were partners in their pursuit of God’s love and grace. She was a great cook and especially enjoyed baking. Nancy could always be found with a camera in hand, documenting nature and her loved ones’ lives. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, reading, and loved to celebrate memories by scrapbooking. The most important thing to Nancy was her faith in and love for her Savior Jesus. This love overflowed to her family and all close to her. She was thrilled to be present at the recent birth of her first grandson Caeden and loved him dearly.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband, David; beloved children, Nathaniel Matychuk, Ailyse (Steven) Shadduck, Brendan Matychuk, Emily Matychuk, Brianna Matychuk; grandson, Caeden Shadduck; siblings, Kenneth (Linda) Brooks of Jordan, Eric (Sandy) Brooks of Hastings, Anne (Glenn) Olson of Hastings, Carrie (Jeremy) Keillor of St. Paul, John (Katrina) Brooks of Mountain Iron. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 5, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in New Prague. Visitation will take place Thursday from 4-8 PM at Bruzek Funeral Home and Friday morning from 10-11 AM at church.
