New Prague girls win first hoops game
The New Prague girls basketball team picked up their first win of the season Tuesday, March 2.
The Trojans ended a 13-game losing streak by defeating Mound Westonka, 70-56.
The win is flip-flop of their game on Feb. 5 when M-W defeated the Trojans, 70-58.
Hannah Wedeking continues to led the offense, scoring 32 points and had 11 rebounds and six assists. Hatlevig scored 13 points and Avery Hennen added 10 points.
“After a slow start to the game, the girls dug in and played with great urgency. Mound Westonka went up 24-17 with about five minutes left in the first half. At that point, our girls went on a 30-1 run between the end of the first half and start of the second,” Trojan head coach Eric Specht said. “Obviously, we made some shots, which builds confidence for both ends of the floor.
