Sister Marilyn Skluzacek, OP
Sister Marilyn Skluzacek, OP, was the 7th child born to Celia (Malecha) and John T. Skluzacek on July 17, 1940. Pased away on Dec. 10, 2021 at Dominican Villa in Sinsinawa, WI. Marilyn attended I.C School in Lonsdale, MN, then went to high school at Bethlehem Academy in Faribault, MN, and graduated in 1958. In the summer after graduation Marilyn applied to the Sinsinawa Dominicans for entrance to their order.
After study in Edgewood College for two years, she taught in many Catholic schools in midwestern USA. Later Marilyn worked on her master’s degree in school administration at Concordia Tech College in River Forest, IL. In 1988 she became the principle of Our Lady of Lourdes School in Chicago, IL.
She is survived by siblings: Jeanette Sticha, Lonsdale, Loretta Hauer, Apple Valley, Bernadine (Robert) Bissonette, Mapleton, Valeria (Bob) McHale, Woodstock, VA and John (Jane) Skluzacek, Lonsdale.
Sister-in-law Eleanor Skluzacek, Lonsdale and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents, John T. and Celia Skluzacek; brother and sister-in-law, Norbert and Marion L. Skluzacek; brother, Adrian Skluzacek. Brothers-in-law, Bohumil Sticha and Rudy Hauer and niece and nephews.
