St. Wenc. principal Doyle retiring
St. Wenceslaus School principal Kim Doyle is retiring July 1 after 16 years as principal at the New Prague school and 36 years as an educator and administrator.
Doyle said deciding to retire was not easy. “It was a very, very difficult decision,” she said. Doyle had been debating whether to retire for a few weeks. “I decided it was time to move forward,” Doyle said. But don’t expect to find her doing nothing. “I’ll be getting a post-retirement job,” she said. When asked what it might be, she laughed and replied, “I’m not really sure yet. I could be teaching or I could be giving back change at Kwik Trip.”
Doyle’s announcement she would be retiring came after the last day of classes at St. Wenceslaus School. “Unfortunately, I was not able to say goodbye to the kids,” said Doyle.
She has received a lot of emails after the announcement. Doyle said there are congratulation messages from people she has gotten to know over the years. There are messages from former students, grandparents of students, parents of current students and parents of students who graduated years ago.
