There are still things to be thankful for

This is has been a difficult year, there is no argument there. It has been a year that has tested people’s resolve, their good humor, and for some their faith. Even with everything that has happened this year there are still things to be thankful for.

If you and your family are still in good health that is something to be thankful for. If you have people that you can share Thanksgiving with, whether it’s through phone calls, online messages or meetings through the computer, that is something to be thankful for. If this is your first and only Thanksgiving that you can’t gather with loved ones that is something to be thankful for. If you can remember large gatherings of family on Thanksgiving that is something to be thankful for. If you have friends in your social group that have invited you into their home to celebrate the holiday that is something to be thankful for. That you still have enough to eat and get through the day that is something to be thankful for. Even if the purse strings are tight, but you are still doing well that is something to be thankful for. If your family is still creating good memories that can be cherished later in life that is something to be thankful for.

Everyone of us are likely thinking the same thing, that we hope and pray that this will be a one time event. That in 2021 we will be able to have a gathering of family and friends to celebrate. That we will be able to see people and hug those we haven’t seen in a few months or even a year.

No matter how you celebrate it I hope that you and your family will in some way have a Happy Thanksgiving this week.
