Trojan boys 2nd at home meet

New Prague High School’s boys track and field team hosted a four-team "Last Chance" invitational meet and finished second. The meet was held Tuesday, May 22.

Waconia won the meet with 76 points, with the Trojans scoring 48, Waseca 42 and Kasson-Mantorville 20

Highlights of the meet: • Christian Velishek won the long jump with a personal record, the high jump and the 4x200 relay, and placed in the 110 hurdles. • Jake Lee won the 4x200 and placed in the 200m. • Eli Parker won the Triple Jump and 4x200 and placed in the 300 hurdles with a personal best, and in the 4x400. • Mason DeGross won the 4x200 and placed in the pole vault and 200 meters, both with PRs, and the 4x400. • Carson Davis placed in the 800m and the 4x400. • Hayden DeGross won the 3200m. • Andy McGannon placed in the discus and shot put, with a PR. • Caleb Loney won the shot put.

The Trojans will compete in the Section 2AA meet at Gustavus Adolphus College. First day of competition was scheduled for Wednesday, May 30, with Day 2 scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, June 1.
