The New Prague volleyball team split two matches with Waconia last week to remain in second place in the Wright County Conference East Division.

The Trojans defeated Waconia 25-18, 25-20, and 25-21 Tuesday, Nov. 10 which was Parent’s Night.

Two nights later the Wildcats turned the tables and defeated New Prague 25-19, 25-18, 22-25, and 25-22.

Hutchinson leads the conference with an 8-2 record. New Prague is a half game back with a 7-2 mark. Waconia is third with a 6-3 record, one half game in front of fourth place Orono. “Tuesday night’s match was a great senior night! After having over a week off of competition, the team was ready to compete. Waconia has always been a great match up for us and they didn’t disappoint. It was a great battle. Winning in three sets was impressive,” New Prague head coach Angie Andersen said. “Our seniors have been a great group to be with this season. They have shown great leadership by leading with a culture of gratitude and positivity this season. They have stepped up and made the most of everything with all the adversity that has been thrown at them this season. We have had lots of fun this season, and they are going to be greatly missed.”
