Trojans track teams sweep Wright County Conference quadrangulars
It was a clean sweep for the New Prague boys and girls track and field teams Tuesday, May 11 in their home Wright County Quadrangular.
The girls team finished with 115 points in defeating Waconia (85), Delano (40), and Holy Family Catholic (32).
The boys team results were almost identical, with the Trojans scoring 113 to win. Waconia (80), Delano (56), and Holy Family Catholic (22) finished 2nd through 4th.
The Lady Trojans earned six individual firsts, eight seconds, and six thirds. They also won a relay.
Champions included Avery Hennen in the 200-meter dash (27.55) and the high jump (5-feet), Nora Rosemeier in the 3,200-meter run (12:42), Madison Josephine in the 100-meter hurdles (16.66), Ellie Hintgen in the 300-meter hurdles (47.93), and Baylee Mulshitz in the triple jump (33-feet, 8 1/4-inches). Maddy Boulanger placed second (31-feet, 8 1/2-inches) and Nellie Dalsin (31-feet, 1 1/2-inches) in the triple jump.
The 4 x 200-meter relay team of Hennen, Paige Ophus, Jadyn Klein, and Tatum Zimmerman won by 13 tenths of a second over Waconia in a time of 1:54.81.
Runner-up finishes were turned in by Hennen in the 100-meter dash (13.20), Libby Midtvedt in the 3,200-meter run (13:25), Josephson in the 300-meter hurdles (50.61), Anika Hatlevig in the high jump (4-feet, 10-inches), Mandi Becher in the pole vault (8-feet), Ava Bruegger in the long jump (14-feet, 10 1/2-inches), and Julia Kubes in the shot put (32-feet, 4 1/2-inches).
