The New Prague City Council had an update on reconstruction work on Main Street during its electronically held meeting on Monday, Aug. 3. As part of the bore and tunnel work for a new storm sewer line under the railroad tracks, the subcontractor, Rice Lake Boring, will be working around the clock until the installation is complete.

Public Works Director Glen Sticha and City Administrator Mike Johnson informed the council about the work. They noted the crews will be working 24 hours over the next few days since it takes about one foot per hour to do the boring. Sticha said if the weather remains as is, clear and dry, they will be doing pretty good. Rice Lake Boring will be installing a 58-inch casing for the new storm sewer line.

Area residents who want to keep up with the work can submit their e-mail address to jbrinkman@sehinc.com and request to be placed on the weekly TH 19 newsletter distribution list. People can also sign up for instant text notifications that will contain a link to the weekly newsletters . . . To see more on this story, pick up the August 6 print edition of The New Prauge Times.
