Viola Adeline Buske, 84

Viola Adeline Buske, age 84, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2023, at Villages of Lonsdale.

She was born Oct. 1, 1938 in Echo, Minn.. Vi was the third of five children born to Harold and Augusta (Hartke) Marquardt. Viola enjoyed many things in life including gardening, all her pets, spending time dancing with her husband and reminiscing with family and friends. Many things of importance, but nothing compares to what she enjoyed the most, spending time with all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She met the love of her life, Murlin J. Buske Jr. in Willmar and they were united in marriage April 9, 1960, in Holloway, Minn. From this union, six children were born, spanning 20 years which kept her really busy. No matter how busy she was, she always had time for a kind word, a listening ear, a hug and of course, a cold beer.

Viola is survived by children, Ray (Janelle) Buske of New Auburn, Wis., Tammy Syrstad (Todd Jacobson) of Bloomington, Caroline (Mitch) Anderson of Rochester, Dawn (Terry) Odenthal of New Prague, Melissa Buske of Waterville; son-in-law, Peter Streed of Waterville; 16 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; her two sisters, Janet Ousky and Shirley Williamson; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; daughter, Susan Streed; two brothers, Ronald and Roger Marquardt; and brothers-in-law, Dwayne Ousky and David Williamson. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24, 2023,

at the Third Street Chapel of Dennis Steffel Omtvedt Funeral & Cremation Service in Waseca. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery in Rochester.
