Ardis D. Kabes, 87

Ardis D. Kabes, age 87, of Waterville, died on Monday, April 23, 2018 at Janesville Nursing Home.  Graveside services will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Morristown on Friday, May 4, 2018 at 10 a.m. with the Reverend David Mumme officiating. Arrangements are being completed by the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault.

Ardis Darlene was born on April 18, 1931 in Faribault to Arthur John and Pauline (Teschke) Schmidtke. Arthur and Pauline raised Ardis and her four brothers at 205 First St. N.E. in Morristown. Between Ardis’ father and her four brothers, they had served 57 years in the military. Ardis graduated from Morristown High School in 1947 and she attended Glenwood Hills Hospital School of Nursing and received her diploma in taking care of the elderly. After her father died in 1949, she took care of her mother before she died in 1959. Ardis married Joeseph Kabes on December 21, 1962 in Waterville by The Reverend Roth. Together, they lived in Morristown for 40 years. Then they moved to Jefferson City, TN for 10 years and White Pine, TN for two years before moving back to Waterville. Ardis and Joe loved to go fishing and snowmobiling. 

She is survived by her husband, Joe Kabes of Waterville; sister in law, Carmen Schmidtke of North Carolina; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Frederick (and Ethel), Martin (and Audrey), Harold and Gordon Schmidtke. Visit boldtfuneralhome.com for information and guest book.
