Survived by daughters, Julie (David) Hanks, Lori Abeln, Michelle/Kellie (Rich) Gorman and Beth (Darryn) Meyer-Visker; son, Michael Meyer; 7 grandchildren, Andrew, Ben (Lily) and Rikki Abeln, Travis and Drew (Maggie) Gorman, Dane and Ava Hanks; friend, Barbara Teal; nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, long-time friends, Max Venero, Dan and Nancy Engebretson, Denny and Charlotte Braun, and Christopher Johnson; also survived by former spouse, Carol Kooistra; many other friends along with his dog, Muffin and cat, Cali. Preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Agnes Meyer, siblings, Doris (Robert) Stratton, Gerald (Mary) Meyer, Donald Meyer, infant brother, Leland Meyer; granddaughter, Randi Abeln.
Visitation was Saturday, January 11th with a Prayer Service at 5 p.m. at HOLCOMB-HENRY-BOOM-PURCELL FUNERAL HOME, 536 N. Snelling Ave., St. Paul.
Bernard enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, spending time on the lake fishing, traveling and being with his family along with sharing his “Garage Logic” with his friends.
Bernie was a former Golden Valley Police Officer, owner of Meyer’s Spur General in Bloomington and Ken’s Bait & Tackle Outlet in Mpls.
