Eight students from Waterville-Elysian-Morristown’s Morristown building have been named Bucs’ Pride Focus Students for December 2018.

Fifth graders selected for the honor include: Liza Baker, daughter of Pat and Pam Baker, and Owen Scheurer, son of Elisha Volkman and Justin Scheurer. The Fifth Grade Team wrote:

“Liza Baker was nominated for showing Bucs’ Pride by always being positive and working well with others. She is willing to help other students. Liza shows pride in her work, is attentive in class and is always a willing participant. Great job, Liza!”

“Owen Scheurer was nominated for showing Bucs’ Pride by being responsible each and every day. Owen is a hard worker who is always willing to give his best without hesitation. He is respectful to all WEM staff and students and is a positive role model for his peers.”

Sixth graders selected for the honor include: Randi Krueger, daughter of Rebecka Olson and Randy Krueger, and Carson James, son of Jesse and Sarah James. The Sixth Grade Team wrote:

“Randi (Krueger) is a diligent student who is always responsible for her work. We have been impressed by her close attention to detail, her willingness to work with others, and her consistent level of respect for all staff and students in our school.”

“Carson (James) is an extremely positive and upbeat young man. He has a smile on his face 99% of the time and is excellent at asking clarifying questions. He is really good about using his time wisely and getting his work done on time.”

Seventh graders selected for the honor include: Mackenzie Velishek, daughter of Jon and Sheri Velishek, and Tim McGraw, son of Travis and Gabe McGraw. The Junior High Team wrote:

“Mackenzie (Velishek) is a great example of what it means to both enjoy life and treat others with respect. She brings a sense of fun and engagement to the class environment without taking away from the lesson. She never fails to greet those around her and she is quick with a kind word or an offer of aid. She is not afraid to participate or to enjoy learning. She is one of the most positive and engaged persons I have had the pleasure to teach. I believe she absolutely deserves to be a Bucs’ Pride Focus Student.”

“Tim (McGraw) is a perfect example of what it means to not only be a kind, empathetic, and caring young man, but also follows the true meaning of what Bucs’ Pride is all about! Tim is respectful. Whenever Tim has a question or wants to participate, he always does so in the most respectful ways — of teachers, paras, and other students. Tim is responsible. Tim is always trying to give his 110% each day. Even when he does not understand a question, he does not give up! He tries until he gets it, asks others for help, or comes in for help; he truly cares about his education. Tim is positive and....
