Norman Francis Stangler, 92

Norman Francis Stangler, age 92, passed away peacefully on March 25th. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a farmer that enjoyed nature, planting oak trees, animals and working with the soil, even in retirement. His crazy sense of humor and jokes will be remembered by all.
Born June 5,1927 to Albert and Helen (Hager) Stangler, Norm served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, 1951-1953. He was stationed in Texas, Georgia and Japan. In 1953 he married LaVerne Weber. Norman and LaVerne have been together ever since, enjoying a remarkable 66 years of marriage.
Norman is survived by his best friend and the love of his life, his wife LaVerne, their two daughters, Colleen (Gary) Fraaza, and Carol (Jim) Yannarelly. Norman loved being a father and a grandfather and made many memories with his 5 grandchildren, Ross Fraaza, Megan (Avery) Oberstadt, Marisha Fraaza, Nick Yannarelly, and Natalie Yannarelly. He was blessed with two great grandchildren, Lily and Carter.
Norman is survived by his sister Gladys Culhane. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Evangeline.
Norman and LaVerne were long time members of the St. Andrew’s Church in Elysian, MN. He was a member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus. Norman was born and lived on the same farm for 89 years, before moving closer to his family in Hudson, WI. He will be greatly missed by his many friends and family.
A Mass of Christian Burial and a celebration of Norm’s wonderful life will be planned for a future date.
