Daniel R. Shetka, age 69, of Richfield, died suddenly while helping a friend on Saturday, September 28, 2019.  Dan was born on November 29, 1949 in St. Paul to Richard R. and Celia A. (Kopet) Shetka.  He grew up in the Veseli area, attended Most Holy Trinity Catholic School. He was an active 4-H member during his school years.

Novotny, Gillard, age 84 of South St. Paul, passed away September 25, 2019 at United Hospital in Saint Paul, MN. Preceded in death by his wife, Marion, parents Martin & Mary Novotny, and siblings, Stella Vlasak, Marty Novotny, Millie Morin, and sister-in-law Donna Beckers.

Ruth Dietz, age 92, of New Prague, died peacefully on Saturday, September 21, 2019, at Mala Strana Rehabilitation Center in New Prague.
Ruth was born on December 11, 1926, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Leo and Marie (Babineau) DeLisle. Ruth graduated from Catholic high school in Minneapolis. She met Alvin M. Dietz at the Prom Center and they later married in Minneapolis on May 14, 1960. In addition to raising her family in New Prague, Ruth also worked at Hendricks chick hatchery, Cedar Lake Farm, bookkeeper for Rademacher Photography, and seamstress for Valley Fair.

Leroy A. Reinke, age 82. Passed away Sept. 16, 2019.
Born Feb. 24, 1937 in Helena Twp, Scott County, rural New Prague to Alvin and Hilda (Boettcher) Reinke. Confirmed on May 13, 1951 at Friedens Lutheran Church, rural New Prague. Married May 15th, 1960 to Elisabeth  E. Krause at St. Johns Lutheran Church Willow Creek, rural Vernon Center, MN. Leroy was employed as a computer programmer prior to retirement. 

William “Bill” Frank Proshek, age 86, of New Prague, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at Mala Strana Rehabilitation Center in New Prague. 

Betty L. Swenson, age 86, of New Prague, died peacefully in the presence of her loving family on Monday, September 16, 2019 at Ebenezer Aurora on France in Edina after a long battle with breast cancer.  Betty was born on June 7, 1933 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Charles Nelson and Johnnie Grace (Hunter) Wilson.  She grew up in Odell, Oregon, and graduated as valedictorian of her high school class.  She married the love of her life, Orvin E.

Donald J. Grinde, age 40, of New Prague, died suddenly at his home on Thursday, September 12, 2019.  Donny was born on August 14, 1979 in St. Paul to Ronald J. and Kathy K. (Buchman) Grinde.  He grew up in the Lakeville area and attended Lakeville Public Schools.  He married the love of his life, Rachael M.

Memorial services for Arthur Erickson, of Glenwood, MN, formerly of Starbuck, MN, will be held on Monday, September 16, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Indherred Lutheran Church, rural Starbuck, MN, with Reverend Dr. Joel Rolf officiating.  Visitation will be on Sunday, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Starbuck Funeral Home in Starbuck and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.  Burial will be in the church cemetery. 

Randy D. Barrington, age 51, of Belle Plaine, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family at his home on Sunday, September 8, 2019.  Randy was born on March 29, 1968 in New Prague to Wayne A.

Myles John Kaderlik, age 84, of Prior Lake, MN, passed away on August 31, 2019, at St. Francis Regional Medical Center, Shakopee, MN.
A visitation will be held Friday, September 6, 2019 from 4-7PM, with closing prayers at 6:45PM, at Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation, 4565 Pleasant Street SE, Prior Lake. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 11AM with a visitation 1-hr prior at St. Michael Catholic Church, 16400 Duluth Avenue SE, Prior Lake. Father Tom Walker will preside. Myles will be laid to rest at St. Michael Catholic Cemetery.

Mary A. Gregory, age 88 of Belle Plaine, died on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at The Belle Plaine Lutheran Home.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 2, at Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church in Belle Plaine, with Fr. Brian Lynch officiating.  Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. on Monday at Our Lady of the Prairie Church in Belle Plaine.  Interment will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Belle Plaine followed by a luncheon at church.

Franklin (Frank) George Breen, 81, of Montgomery, died on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2019, at Augustana Lakeside Community Home in Dassel. Visitation was held on Friday, August 23, 10 a.m. to 12 noon with funeral service following at 12 noon, all at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Interment will be at a later date.
Frank was born on May 2, 1938, in Armour, SD to George W. and Ella J. (Herron) Breen. He graduated from Armour High School and also Southern State College in Springfield, SD. Frank was united in marriage to Jackie Lineback on August 19, 1961, in SD.

Margaret Jane Koenig-Peterson, age 63, died peacefully, surrounded by her family on Monday, August 26, 2019 at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina.  Margaret was born on May 6, 1956 and was adopted lovingly by Joseph J. and Marcella J.

Ilo V. Hinze, age 95 of Prior Lake, formerly of New Prague and New Ulm, passed away on August 4, 2019.

William T. Dietz, age 71, of Faribault, MN, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis following an extended illness, surrounded by his family.
Memorial visitation to celebrate Bill and share stories will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2019 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave N., Faribault, Minnesota. A short blessing will be at 2:00 p.m., followed by a social until approximately 5 p.m.

Catherine Herrmann (Rathmanner) left this world peacefully on August 22, 2019, at the age of 80, surrounded by her family.
Visitation will be Monday, Aug. 26, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery, and one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 27 at 11 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery with Father Tom officiating. Private family interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery.
