The New Prague High School baseball team capped off a great season Friday, June 16, with a 5-3 win over Mahtomedi in the Class AAA state championship game at CHS Field in St. Paul.

507s 6, Orioles 1 The New Prague Orioles hosted the 34th New Prague Oriole Invitational this past weekend, June 10-11. The Lyon's Pub Warriors out of Minneapolis were the eventual champions. New Prague went 1-2 against a few tough Class B teams. In round one they lost to the 507 club out of Mahtomedi. Matt Zweber, Jake Deutsch and Gavin Bergman all pitched well, but some good timely hitting by the 507s led to a 6-1 victory for the visitors. Ben Schmitz, Eric Wagner and James Fuerniss all had good days at the plate with hits and reaching base multiple times.

New Prague High School will face Mahtomedi in the Class AAA baseball state championship Friday, June 16, 4:30 p.m., at CHS Field in St. Paul.
The Trojans reached the championship game with a dramatic, come-from-behind 6-5 win over Monticello Wednesday, June 14, at the Mini Met in Jordan. The Zephyrs arrive at the title tilt off a 3-1 win over Grand Rapids Wednesday in Jordan.

Despite a hard-luck loss against the tournament’s top-seeded team, New Prague’s indoor softball team rebounded with a big win and captured third-place honors at the state tournament last weekend at Chanhassen High School.
The Trojans opened the tournament with a win over Osseo. They dropped an extra-inning clash against Dakota United before winning the third-place game over St. Cloud. New Prague finished the season at 8-3.

Scoring two runs in the fourth, seventh and eighth inning, the New Prague Orioles thumped Faribault, 7-0, Sunday, June 4, in New Prague.

A year after they surprised the field with a strong performance win at the state tournament, the New Prague indoor softball team is heading back to state hoping to put both facets of the game together to enjoy another strong showing.

New Prague High School’s baseball team ended the regular season with two wins, as the Trojans defeated Benilde-St. Margaret’s (BSM), 4-3, and Mankato West, 8-0.
New Prague begins play in the Section 2AAA tournament today (Wednesday) with a 5 p.m. home game at Memorial Park Baseball Stadium. No. 1 seeded New Prague takes on eighth seeded Worthington.

With a really good pitching game from Henry Novak and Nolan Eischens hitting a great triple in the fourth inning, New Prague topped Benilde-St. Margaret’s Tuesday May 23.
Trojans 8, Mankato West

It took awhile for the Orioles’ bats to get going Saturday, May 27, but they were able to score a bunch in the middle part of the game as New Prague defeated the Shakopee Coyotes, 7-1, and extended its record to 5-0, the team’s best start since 2015.
New Prague’s Anthony Mader scored in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings and also added a RBI double. Jacob Mader had three hits including a RBI double of his own. Collin Dorzinski had two hits as he continues to be one of the Orioles’ hottest hitters.

The New Prague High School softball team is still alive in the Section 2AAA softball playoffs after a tough loss to Mankato West Thursday.
Saturday, May 27, the Trojans advanced to play Tuesday, 5 p.m., at Caswell Park in North Mankato. NPHS advanced with a win over St. Peter and later a walk-off win over Marshall.
