Virginia D. Dehn, age 91 of Waterville died on Monday, September 17, 2018 at Traditions in Waterville.
The case against Le Sueur County Historical Society (LCHS) will get a green light or a red light in October after a Le Sueur County judge clarified matters on Monday, Sept. 17.
In court were Ray Konz, attorney for LCHS, and Kevin Wetherille, attorney for the 16 plaintiffs. The attorneys discussed the proceedings thus far and made several requests of Judge Mark Vandelist.
Gordon A. Smith, age 90, of Faribault, died on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Homestead Hospice, Owatonna.
Memorial services will be held at Grace Baptist Church, Owatonna, on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 10 a.m. with the Reverend David Levy officiating. Interment and military rites will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.
Memorial visitation will be at the church for one hour prior to the service on Friday.
Dorothy L. Bittner, age 95, of Elysian died September 7, 2018, at BridgeWater in Janesville.
Funeral Service will be 2 p.m. on Friday, September 14, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville with Rev. Larry Griffin and Rev. Paul Muther officiating. Interment will follow in the Janesville Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 – 6 p.m. on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church’s Discipling Center in Janesville and will continue for one hour prior to the service on Friday.
Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church’s Discipling Center.

The No. 1 rated WEM volleyball team snapped a Faribault BA 137 Gopher Conference match winning streak on Thursday, Sept. 6 in Waterville. The Buccaneers defeated the Cardinals 22-25, 25-20, 25-14, and 25-21 ending a streak that has lasted nearly 19 years. The last loss in conference play by Faribault BA was October 14, 1999, when they were defeated by Blooming Prairie. Since then, the Cardinals have won 18 straight conference titles. Eleanore M. Schauer, 91 of Arlington, died on Friday, August 31, 2018 at Good Samaritan Society in Arlington, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, September 3, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Arlington, MN. Visitation will be at the Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington on Monday from noon until 1:45 p.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery followed by lunch at the church social hall. Fr. Aaron Johanneck will officiate the services.
Waterville-Elysian-Morristown Buccaneers returned to the high school and middle school on Tuesday, Sept. 4. The students received the traditional warm welcome with teachers and staff members cheering for them as they made their walk down the Buccaneer-green carpet and into school. The younger Buccaneers will return to class on Wednesday, Sept. 5.
Roland “Swede” Robert Quast, age 94 of Morristown died on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at St. Lucas Care Center in Faribault.
The start to what is expected to be an outstanding season for the No. 1 rated WEM volleyball team was just that...outstanding. The Bucs swept Triton, 25-16, 25-11, and 25-20 in the team's opening match Tuesday, Aug. 28 in Waterville. Thursday, Aug. 30 the Bucs will travel to Kenyon to face Class AA No. 5 rated Kenyon-Wanamingo. The 50th annual Shooter's Roundup in North Morristown was attended by thousands of individuals Saturday, Aug. 25 and Sunday, Aug. 26. There were trick shooting shows, shopping opportunities, food opportunties, and of course, gun shooting throughout the weekend.
An overturned semi truck closed both the north and southbound lanes of State Highway 13/21 on Tuesday morning.
The single-vehicle accident happened around 9 a.m. at the intersection of 320th Street and Highway 13/21, north of the Lakeside Supper Club and south of Le Sueur County Road 28. Montgomery Police and the New Prague Fire Department are on the scene. Injuries are unknown at this time.

HERBERT ROY VOLKMANN, age 82 of Waterville, died on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.
Myles Alphonse Balfe, age 57 of Waseca died on Friday, August 24, 2018 at his home following a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
Tractors, new and antique functioning motors of all shapes and sizes aren't the only things happening at Pioneer Power. The show is also hosting historical construction equipment, antique trucks and food. The 45th annual show is also featuring music throughout the weekend, including that of the James Busta Band. There is also a Parade of Equipment, tractor pull, and an ecumenical church service. The parade of equipment is Saturday and Sunday from 12:30 to 2 p.m. each day. See more in the print edition. The for sale sign still stands outside the Le Sueur City Museum, but according to legal records, the historic property has been sold.
Le Sueur County Historical Society (LCHS) sold the property in January.
The land and buildings at 709 2nd Street North in Le Sueur, which is the location of the Le Sueur City Museum, are now owned by dairy cooperative Agropur Inc., according to an online property search.
A warranty deed filed with Le Sueur County in January 2018, indicates that the sale of the property occurred on January 17.
